A Note on Language

The Scottish Maritime Museum has announced that it will no longer refer to ships as ‘she’ but will use more gender neutral language. I will continue to follow the long standing maritime tradition and refer to ships as female. I feel sure that no-one will be offended by this but, if anyone is, they can of course exercise their choice not to follow this blog.
